Chad is a landlocked nation located in north-central Africa. Due to its distance from the sea and its desert climate, it is sometimes referred to as the "Dead Heart of Africa."

Terrorists have been active in Chad since its independence from France in 1960. The current president, Idris Deby Itno, has launched a war against Islamic extremists, targeting insurgents and the Janjaweed militia of Sudan.

Many Muslims have been recruited as mercenaries to attack and kill Christians in Nigeria. Like that nation, Chad is roughly divided into a Muslim north (which is politically powerful) and a Christian/tribal-religion south.

PRAISE

Despite ongoing persecution and the constant threat of civil conflict, God is working powerfully in Chad. Missionaries are translating the Bible into the heart language of numerous people groups, schools and medical facilities are being opened, and ministries to vulnerable children and women are communicating the love of Christ.

PRAYER
Pray for the government of Chad to continue to take a stand against terrorism.

Pray that the country will not become a breeding ground for extremist groups.

Pray for God to defeat and turn back any attacks by al-Qaeda and the Janjaweed.

Pray for the members of these organizations to have life-changing encounters with the living Christ.

Pray for God to turn back this tide of darkness.

Pray for Him to equip Believers to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ with mighty signs and wonders following after them.

Pray for Muslim missionaries to be saved and begin to proclaim the Kingdom of God throughout Chad. Muslim nations are sending missionaries to Chad and new mosques are being constructed.
