Malaysia is a federation of thirteen states divided into two distinct regions by
the South China Sea. Among these states are nine sultanates, two led by
governors, and two federal territories.

New laws have helped define and combat terrorism and related crimes. The nation has responded to international efforts to capture suspected extremists and police are engaged in ongoing counterterrorism investigations.

Over half of the population of Malaysia is Muslim. Sunni Islam is the official
religion and there is a growing movement insisting that the nation introduce
harsher Islamic laws.

PRAISE

Thank God that young East Malaysians attending universities in Europe and the West are having the opportunity to hear the Gospel.

PRAYER

Pray for the Malaysian government to continue to carry out counterterrorism
measures and work to keep terrorists from congregating in their nation.

Pray for the Jemaah Islamiyah Kumpulan to be rendered powerless by the sovereign hand of God.

Pray for the Spirit of the Lord to raise up a standard and send forth weapons from His arsenal to push back the demonic forces coming against this nation.

Pray for God to supernaturally protect innocent people from destructive schemes. The growing Islamic influence in Malaysia could make it harder for Muslims to be reached with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Pray for God to give Christians a sense of urgency in sharing His love with
their neighbors and families.

Pray for Him to use this nation to advance His Kingdom in all of Southeast Asia.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
