The Democratic People's Republic of Korea occupies the northern half of the
Korean Peninsula in East Asia.

North Korea is not known to have sponsored any terrorist acts since the bombing
of a Korean Airlines flight in 1987. However, it is ruled by a highly repressive
regime that is ranked as the worst persecutor of Christians in the entire world.

The North Korean Constitution contains a provision for the "freedom of religious
belief." However, the government severely restricts religion and has arrested,
imprisoned, and tortured thousands of Believers.

PRAISE

Even as they suffer violent persecution, Christians continue to stand strong for
the Lord Jesus Christ. These modern day martyrs are a testimony to the power of
God and His victory over every form of opposition.

PRAYER

Pray for the salvation of Kim Jong-Il and other North Korean leaders.

Pray for prisoners and guards to see the witness of Christian prisoners and come
to a saving knowledge of Christ.

Pray for torture camps to be closed down and for the spirit of control to be
replaced by the liberty of God's Spirit.

Pray for the safety of imprisoned Christians.

Pray for God to be present with them, sustaining them emotionally, physically
and spiritually with His grace.

Pray for their immediate release. Pray for God to provide for their families and
comfort them.

Pray for Underground Believers to be protected and to remain strong as they
endure government abuse.

Pray for the Kingdom of God to come crashing into this dark, spiritually
resistant land.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
