Tunisia is situated on the Mediterranean coast of North Africa, midway between the Atlantic Ocean and the Nile Valley.

The country's law enforcement organizations carefully monitor the activities of Tunisian extremists, both in Tunisia and abroad. The government has prevented the formation of terrorist groups, as well as religious-based political parties that could pose threats to the nation's security.

Although Islam is the state religion, the government wants the country to be secular. As a result, many of the citizens have become more materialistic. This presents a unique challenge for evangelism.

PRAISE

Thank God that in 1999 Christians gathered to pray for Tunisia. God answered their prayers and significant numbers have been coming to Christ.

PRAYER

Pray for terrorist groups operating in the shadows of society to be exposed and disbanded by the Spirit of God.

Pray for the Tunisian government to pursue, arrest, and prosecute members of terrorist organizations.

Pray for leaders to recognize the dangers of extremist philosophies and turn to God for wisdom and strength.

Many Muslims travel to the city of Kairouan in search of spiritual help or healing. Pray for them to have an encounter with Christ during this pilgrimage.

Pray for Believers to be passionate in sharing their faith and expanding the Kingdom of God throughout Tunisia.

They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
