Discrimination against Christians continues in Orissa. In October 2010, Hindu extremists prevented a family from cremating the body of a Christian man and chased them out of their village. "News of the incident has raised concerns among Christians in Kandhama District," says Spero News, "the same who suffered during the 2008 anti-Christian program that left hundreds dead." Christians in Orissa say the attacks on their faith are not only dangerous and stressful, but are keeping some interested Hindus from converting.

Pray for the Lord to glorify His Son, Jesus Christ in Orissa, and throughout India.

Petition Him to protect His people and give them courage to stand against the schemes of the enemy.

Ask for the salvation of the most radical Hindus and that this would be a testimony to the Lord's great power and love.

Pray for multitudes of people in India to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
