EGYPT, NORTH AFRICA

Twenty-one people were killed and many wounded when a bomb exploded outside a church in Alexandria, Egypt while congregants were leaving a New Year's Mass. The explosion occurred at the entranceway of The Church of Two Saints, a Coptic Orthodox Church. No one individual or group has claimed responsibility for the bombing, but there were many threats from Islamic organizations toward this congregation, one stating that there would be "rivers of blood."

Pray for families of the deceased and for the wounded to recover fully.

Pray that violence would subside and hearts in Egypt to turn to Jesus.
Plead for the hearts of people in Egypt and ask the Lord to bring a great harvest of souls in Egypt.
Pray for the Kingdom of God to come to this nation with righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
