AFGHANISTAN, SOUTH ASIA

The war in Afghanistan is being credited with helping to fight terrorism worldwide. "Without NATO boots on the ground, the plot against Europe might never have been uncovered," one observer noted. "Without [a] military presence, the subsequent predator-drone strikes that wiped out more than a half dozen al-Qaeda assets involved in the plot would have been impossible. The wilds of Afghanistan and Pakistan are al-Qaeda central." Winning the war in Afghanistan, many believe, is the "key to foiling terrorist plans."

Pray for the Lord Himself to move powerfully in this nation, defeating the Taliban, al-Qaeda, and all other extremist groups.

Ask Him to keep the Allied troops safe, give them effective strategies of war, and rid the Afghan government of corruption.

Pray for His plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled and for the Name of Jesus to be glorified throughout this nation.

Intercede for the spiritual freedom of Muslims and ask the Lord for a great harvest of souls.

Pray for Christian Believers to be bold witnesses and for the people of Afghanistan to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The nation of Kazakhstan is part of the terrorism watch list because of its possible link to terrorist activities. The government has objected to being on this list, citing a history free of terrorism. But experts are concerned that might be changing. Pray for the government of Kazakhstan to do everything they can to prevent terrorism and keep their nation safe from terrorist group activity. Pray for Muslims in Kazakhstan to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Pray for Christians to continue to faithfully pray for their nation and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Petition the Lord for a great harvest of souls in Kazakhstan. (Psalm 71:3)

INDIA, SOUTH ASIA

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)
