MALDIVES, SOUTH ASIA

Maldives has been called an "important South Asia democratic success story" because in a single generation, it went from reporting the lowest to the highest per capita income in the region. A new constitution was drafted in 2004 and in 2008 the first democratic elections were held, followed by a peaceful transition of power.

Praise the Lord for blessing Maldives.

Pray for the eyes of the people to see He is the giver of all good gifts.

Ask the Lord to open the door for the Gospel to reach this closed, Islamic nation.

Plead for Muslims in Maldives to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord – and for the Christian Believers to stand firm in the faith and be bold witnesses.

Pray for a great harvest as the Kingdom of God comes in power.

The nation of Kazakhstan is part of the terrorism watch list because of its possible link to terrorist activities. The government has objected to being on this list, citing a history free of terrorism. But experts are concerned that might be changing. Pray for the government of Kazakhstan to do everything they can to prevent terrorism and keep their nation safe from terrorist group activity. Pray for Muslims in Kazakhstan to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Pray for Christians to continue to faithfully pray for their nation and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Petition the Lord for a great harvest of souls in Kazakhstan. (Psalm 71:3)

INDIA, SOUTH ASIA

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)
