NIGERIA, WEST AFRICA

The House of Representatives asked the attorney-general of Nigeria, along with the minister of justice and several security chiefs to take part in discussions about a newly proposed anti-terrorism bill. The House wants to expand the bill to include kidnapping, abduction, and hijacking, all of which are serious problems in this region.

Pray for the Lord to give these leaders wisdom as they attempt to combat the threats against Nigeria.

Pray for them to consider the safety of the people above their own selfish desires and agendas.

Ask the Lord to root out corruption in this nation and raise up leaders who will serve in humility and integrity.

Pray for a great spiritual awakening in Nigeria – for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout the land and for men, women, and children from every people group, tribe and language to put their faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

The nation of Kazakhstan is part of the terrorism watch list because of its possible link to terrorist activities. The government has objected to being on this list, citing a history free of terrorism. But experts are concerned that might be changing. Pray for the government of Kazakhstan to do everything they can to prevent terrorism and keep their nation safe from terrorist group activity. Pray for Muslims in Kazakhstan to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Pray for Christians to continue to faithfully pray for their nation and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Petition the Lord for a great harvest of souls in Kazakhstan. (Psalm 71:3)

INDIA, SOUTH ASIA

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)
