WEST BANK, MIDDLE EAST

Palestinian authorities recently arrested a Hamas cell operating in the West Bank. The group was believed to be planning an attack on Israelis, as well as an assassination attempt on the mayor of Nablus.

Praise the Lord for the capture of these terrorists.

Pray for them to be brought to justice swiftly and for other extremists to realize the consequences awaiting those who seek to intimidate and manipulate by means of violent acts.

Ask the Lord to root out other terrorists in the West Bank before they can carry out their demonically-inspired acts.

Pray for the people of the West Bank to see the futility of terrorism and of extremist Islam.

Petition the Lord to make the Gospel known in this region and ask Him for a great harvest of souls.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
