BANGLADESH, SOUTH ASIA

The United People's Democratic Front (UPDF), a radical political group, threatened Christians in multiple churches in December 2010 and kept them from celebrating Christmas. Members of the UPDF told Christians they couldn't play instruments or even worship silently. Their goal is for Christians to return or convert to Buddhism.

Pray for the evil stronghold of Buddhism to be torn down in Bangladesh and throughout South Asia.

Ask the Lord to open the eyes of these people to see the Light of Christ.

Pray for those Christians who are facing persecution to be comforted and strengthened, and to respond to their enemies in love.

Petition the Lord for many in Bangladesh to turn from their sins and seek Him.

Pray for the Kingdom of God to come to this nation.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
