ISRAEL, MIDDLE EAST

After the deadly bombing of a church in Egypt in December 2010, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called for international cooperation in the fight against terrorism. "All nations which support freedom stand as a united front in the war on terror," he said.

Pray for the Lord to protect Israel from terrorist attacks and for greater cooperation between nations in the Middle East.

Ask the Lord to use this common threat to bring peace between Arabs and Jews. Give thanks for Israel's concern about their neighbors.

Pray for the salvation of both of these groups.

Ask the Lord to pour out His Spirit on the Middle East, revealing Jesus as Messiah to the people of Israel.

Pray for a great harvest of souls as God's Kingdom comes in power.

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)

TUNISIA, NORTH AFRICA

Nearly 500 people were arrested during another large street protest in Tunisia on Sunday, May 1, 2011. Soldiers and tanks reportedly entered Deraa. Human rights groups claim more than 550 people have been killed during this time of unrest. Pray for the Lord's plans and purposes for this nation to be fulfilled. Pray for the government to stop attacking its own people. Ask the Lord to restore order and bring spiritual transformation to Tunisia. Plead for the souls of this nation. Pray for Christians to be protected from the violence and be bold in sharing the Gospel. Invite God's Kingdom to come, His will be done in Tunisia. (Psalm 37:37)
