Burkina Faso is one of the poorest nations in the world. More than half of the population struggles to survive on less than $1.25 per day. More than 80% live on less than $2 per day.

According to Joshua Project, the majority of the people in Burkina Faso practice Sunni Islam. Nearly a third are followers of ethnic religions.

PRAISE:

In 1960 there were an estimated 10,000 Christians in Burkina Faso. By 2010 the number had risen to 1.44 million!

PRAYER:

Pray the Burkinabes to cry out to the Lord for relief from their poverty.

Pray for the Lord to raise up Christian leaders to help improve the economy. (Psalm 107:28)

Pray the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout this nation.

Pray for those who have been deceived by the ethnic religions to be set free by the truth of Christ. (I Peter 2:9)

Pray for a great harvest of souls in Burkina Faso.

The government has objected to being on this list, citing a history free of terrorism. But experts are concerned that might be changing. Pray for the government of Kazakhstan to do everything they can to prevent terrorism and keep their nation safe from terrorist group activity. Pray for Muslims in Kazakhstan to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Pray for Christians to continue to faithfully pray for their nation and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. INDIA, SOUTH ASIA

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)
