The nation of India is the largest democracy in the world and the second in terms of population. It is also one of only eight countries known to possess nuclear weapons.

The border between India and Pakistan is considered one of the most dangerous in the world. Hundreds of thousands of people have died there since Pakistan was partitioned in 1947. The violence in this region incites feuds between Muslims and Hindus in India.

PRAISE:

Between Pentecost Sunday 2009 and Pentecost Sunday 2010, one ministry in India baptized 1,000,000 people! Give thanks to the Lord for this great and marvelous work.

PRAYER:

Christians in India to be bold in sharing their faith. Pray for the Lord to provide them with opportunities to tell their families, friends, and neighbors about Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 6:19)

Hindus in this nation to hear and respond to the Gospel. Ask the Lord to pour His Holy Spirit out on India, drawing multitudes into relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. (Romans 10:9)

Peace between Hindus and Muslims, as well as protection from terrorist attacks in this very dangerous region. Pray for leaders in India to seek the Lord for wisdom. (Proverbs 1:7)

The nation of Kazakhstan is part of the terrorism watch list because of its possible link to terrorist activities. The government has objected to being on this list, citing a history free of terrorism. But experts are concerned that might be changing. Pray for the government of Kazakhstan to do everything they can to prevent terrorism and keep their nation safe from terrorist group activity. Pray for Muslims in Kazakhstan to have the opportunity to hear and respond to the Gospel. Pray for Christians to continue to faithfully pray for their nation and share the Good News of Jesus Christ. Petition the Lord for a great harvest of souls in Kazakhstan. (Psalm 71:3)

Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India. Petition the Lord to tear down the strongholds of Hinduism and set free those held captive by this religion. Plead with the Lord for a great harvest of souls in this nation. (Isaiah 42:6,7)
