Al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) is active in this arid, Sahel nation. In the past few years, AQIM kidnapped and murdered a number of tourists in Mauritania.

More than 99% of the population is Muslim. Most languages lack Scriptures and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ is illegal. The few who have put their faith in Christ as Savior face great persecution.

Pray for the government of Kazakhstan to do everything they can to prevent terrorism and keep their nation safe from terrorist group activity. Hindu "holy man" Sathya Sai Baba died in April 2011. He was considered a "god" by his followers, who numbered in the millions. They believe he healed himself and was reborn in 1993. They are now praying for his resurrection. Ask the Lord to speak to the hearts of all those in India who have put their hope in men and false gods. Pray for their blind eyes to be opened to the truth of Jesus Christ. Pray for the Gospel to be proclaimed throughout India.
